Glenn Beck is an emotional guy. Ain’t nobody gonna dispute that. One minute he’s crying because he loves his country, and the next he’s suggesting California be kicked out of the Union. Earlier this week, Mr. Beck had a meltdown while “debating” health care with a caller to his radio program.

As clips of the exchange made their way across the Web, lookups on “glenn beck” and the far more telling “glenn beck loses his mind” surged into the straphere. Assuming you can tolerate listening to people scream at each other, the clip is actually quite amusing.

The caller comes on strong, arguing that the United States needs universal health care. Mr. Beck disagrees. Both sides talk (loudly) at the same time for a while; then Beck loses his cool and screams that the caller should get off his phone.

To be fair, the clip made its way onto the Web courtesy of MediaMatters4America, a watchdog group that goes after conservative pundits like Beck. According to their channel on YouTube, the group is “dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.”

Below, the clip in question. There’s no foul language, but there is a heckuva lot of blustering and righteous indignation on both sides. Enjoy!

Salmonella Found at Dry Milk Plant

Is nothing sacred? Now even breakfast foods could be suspect.

There’s a recall of products with instant dried milk that could be contaminated with salmonella. So you know the drill. The list of products is likely to grow as it’s discovered where all that instant dried milk ended up.

After the FDA found salmonella at their plant, the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative of Minnesota started to voluntarily recall products made in the past two years. The product list is already growing.

The recall originally centered on a single tainted product, but has since expanded to the Malt-O-Meal “Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal.” The brand is sold nationally under other names. Meijer hot chocolate mix and some Kroger popcorn toppings have also been added to the recall list. According to USA Today, no illnesses have been linked to this latest outbreak.

News of the forbidden foods caused online lookups for “oatmeal recall,” “fda recalls,” and “food recalls” all to move up in one-day searches.

For a complete list of recalled products, you can check the FDA website here.

The photo in question

President Obama is in the middle of the G8 conference, where he and other world leaders are trying to fix the climate, the global economy, and about a million other terrifying problems. And yet, all anyone can talk about is a photo that supposedly shows the U.S. president and French leader Nicolas Sarkozy checking out a young woman’s posterior.

Once news of the pho broke, searches on “obama looking at woman’s butt,” “obama checking out butt,” and the pun-tastic “tail to the chief” all soared through the roof. Also buzzing was the name of the young woman who Obama and his French counterpart were supposedly admiring: Mayara Tavares (some news outlets are spelling her first name “Mayora“).

So who is Ms. Tavares, anyway? According to TheWeek.com, she is a junior delegate from Brazil. Lookups on her name are up an astounding 9,212% in one day. And while some are looking at the photo as proof that Obama and Sarkozy could use some manners, a video from “Good Morning America” absolves the two of leering. Well, it absolves Obama, anyway. Sarkozy, not so much.
